no one has come close to making the books into films. LOTR and the hobbit had lots missed out.

the original book was 12 volumes not 3. closest to the book so far was lord of the rings made in the early 60's and was animated. it was 4 hrs long and only 1 volume of the book. they didnt make the rest as very few wanted to sit and watch a film for 4 hrs. back then it was either go to the cinema to watch it or rent it and watch it at home if u could afford to buy a projector and screen. my cousin had a home cinema with a projector and screen so i watched it at his home.

i was about 7 when i 1st read it and watched the film.

later books have been cut down a lot so lots have been edited out.
like frodo got the ring on his 35th birthday but didnt setout on the journy with it till he was 70. so the films and edited down books left out a lot of years. it also took frodo 5 years to reach the prancing pony. bombadil is missing from the film and later books.

Two female characters in Lord of the Rings that always fascinated me. They were Galadriel because she was powerful without feeling the need to project her power. And then there's Eowyn, a maiden who killed a Nazgul. If you want want strong females then they are the benchmark. I will never watch Rings of Power because I know they do nothing properly to project a strong woman. Amazon is garbage.
