If they wanted diversity, they could have explored it in a clever or nuanced way, like a storyline in Haradrim, Umbar, or Easterlings, instead of doing what they always do: ham-fisting non-European actors into European settings.
They really should’ve considered allowing the humans to age and die over the seasons while the Elves stay the same. It would’ve felt far more powerful than having everything condensed like this.

Maybe picking fights with fans who have read the three novels, the Hobbit, the Silmarillion and various short stories and essays of JRR Tolkien numerous times and pretty much studied everything he wrote, wasn't a good business plan? Seems like a lot of sudden, last minute back-peddling going on now that they've seen how badly the trailers have gone down and the backlash from fans over the disregard and desecration of Tolkien's work.
