During the Middle Ages, Ghent was a wealthy and prominent city-state mainly due to the manufacturing of cloth made from English wool. Today, it’s a university town and cultural hub full of amazing architecture, such as the 12th-century Gravensteen castle. From towering churches to detailed statues and peaceful canals, there are hundreds of charming views to take in here. In this video, we’ll break down the 7 best things to do in Ghent. 7. Try local delicacies Try waffles, french fries, and Belgian Beer (Delirium Tremens is the local one), “Gentse Neusjes” and a “Julientje”. 6. Ist Leuven schön? In welchem Land ist Leuven? Was spricht man in Leuven? Und heißt es Leuven oder Löwen? Ja, wie du im Video siehst: Leuven ist super schön! Das hätten wir selbst nicht gedacht. Aber woher hätten wir das auch wissen sollen? Wir waren schließlich vorher noch nicht dort. Auf jeden Fall lohnt sich die Altstadt mit dem atemberaubend schönen Rathaus genauso sehr wie der Rest der Stadt. Leuven (dt. Löwen) liegt in Belgien, in der Region Flandern. Sie ist Hauptstadt der Provinz Flämisch-Brabant und Hauptort des Bezirks Leuven. Dementsprechend wird hier flämisch gesprochen. Die Stadt hat knapp 100.000 Einwohner und davon sind sage und schreibe 40.000 Studierende. Und das merkt man sofort. In Leuven sprudelt das Leben in Form von hippen Bars, Restaurants und Shops. Alleine deshalb ist die Stadt schon mindestens einen Wochenendausflug wert. Leuven liegt nur 20 Minuten östlich von Brüssel und 1 1/2 Stunden von Aachen entfernt. Also ein Katzensprung für alle aus NRW. Wir widmen uns in diesem Video besonders den grünen Orten von Leuven und der Umgebung. Diese Woche wird unser Van Life Stress-Level auf die Probe gestellt, denn wir werden weiterhin vom Camper Pech regelrecht verfolgt. The Euro 2024 qualifying match between Belgium and Sweden has been abandoned at half-time after two football fans were shot dead. Two men, both wearing Sweden shirts, had been killed in the street before the game in Brussels. Sweden players decided during the break to not resume the game, with the score 1-1 at half-time.
