A 5E or 5C error code indicates that the Samsung washing machine has detected a drainage issue. The most common reasons for this error are: A blocked filter or a kinked drain hose. It is important to clean the drain pump filter regularly to ensure the smooth running of the machine. Follow these steps to clean the drain pump filter. 1) Locate the small access door on the front of the washing machine. Get ready to collect any water that may come out of the washing machine. Place a towel on the floor in front of the washing machine and have a shallow dish nearby 2) Press firmly on the access door on the front of the washing machine or use a coin to open the door depending on your washing machine model 3) Pull out the emergency drain hose and position the spout over the dish. Remove the cap and let the water flow out into the dish until it stops flowing. Replace the cap on the emergency drain hose and secure it properly back in position 4) Rotate the drain filter anti-clockwise to remove it from the housing. Remove any debris from the filter and wash it in warm water to clean it properly. Wipe the drain pump filter recess with a damp cloth. Replace the drain pump filter and rotate it clockwise to lock it in place. Close the access door If your machine is having trouble draining, it is important to check that the drain hose has been installed correctly. If the drain hose is connected through a spigot, follow these steps to check that your drainpipe is correctly positioned and installed. A spigot is a valve on another pipe. 1) Make sure that you have removed or cut off the blanking cap 2) Check that the drain hose is pushed onto the spigot correctly and if there is a hose clip on the pipe, check that it is screwed on correctly 3) Check that there are no kinks or bends in the drainpipe If the drain hose is connected through a standpipe, follow these steps to check that your drainpipe is correctly positioned and installed 1) Make sure that the hose is correctly positioned and secured using the hose clips and that the drain hose is at least 60 cm above the floor 2) Check that the standpipe covers the drain hose completely 3) Make sure that no more than 150 mm of the drain hose is in the standpipe 4) Check that there are no kinks or bends in the drain pipe Need help with your Samsung product? This filter should be cleaned every other month or every 40 wash cycles. This homeowner didn't know about this filter and hadn't cleaned it at all since the washer was new over 2 years ago (and hundreds of wash cycles...) I didn't show it in the video, but it's a good idea to use the silicone grease on the rubber O-ring to clean and condition it which will help to prevent it from leaking. Most people haven't noticed the small panel at the bottom of their washer. Unlike other panels on the machine this one is meant to be open on a regular basis. Do this every 2 months and you should never see error code 5C! Except for a towel and a pan no tools or mechanical skills are required.
Step by step on how to fix a 5C or a 5E check code error code on a Samsung front load washer. This video tutorial will help you to troubleshoot 4C, 4E, codes showing on the display of your Samsung washing machine. It talks you through water supply issues, including voltage checks and filer checks. How to remove the water valves if you need to replace them as well. Check 1 - Water flow too slow System will show error 4E/4C, for safety and washing machine will stop and display the code Usually, after 10-15 minutes, because the water supply is very slow going into the washing machine tube. Error will show 4E/4C. Check 2 - Do not use the Flood safe hoses Check to see if the water hose mesh filter is not blocked. You should clean the water hose and mesh around the filter at least twice a year to prevent build up. Check 3 - Problem with pressure sensor unit. This rare , but we get this problem. Usually problem is clogged sensor hose. Inspect and clean if a blockage is there. Check 4 - Look for any debris in the water valve itself.. Check 5 - All else fails and you have your 120vac replace the water valve.
