Over the past year we've seen some bike makers step backwards in the technology that they're building into their bikes. However, we think that it could be taken another step further. We don't think anyone would ever complain about having a threaded bottom bracket, a 27.2 seatpost and a bar and stem which is easily adjustable and interchangeable should the desire strike them. In theory, the things listed in this video should actually be seen as upgrades as current bike tech can be slightly temperamental. 00:00 - Intro 00:25 - Gloss Paint 01:27 - Conventional Bar & Stem 02:37 - Integration... GARMIN GIVEAWAY: 🤍 In November's Tech Of The Month, Sam, Simon and Stefan discuss all the latest tech stories of the previous month. First we start with our biggest Garmin Giveaway yet as we put a Tacx Neo 2T up for grabs. We look into Sram's latest sponsorship of the America's Cup and what new developments could come from sailing to cycling. Bianchi stunned us all when they released their latest iteration of the Oltre, their flagship aero offering, as the 'air deflectors' were deemed UCI illegal. This has resulted in a top end aero bike essentially being rendered pointless and may have resulted in 2022's most pointless innovation. Lastly we look at why the inaugural gravel world champs was won on a road bike and we promote the brand new Scott Foil Ultimate RC to our Bike Of The Month. 00:00 - Intro 00:26 - Garmin Giveaway 01:07 - Sram Are Building Boats? 04:38 - 2022's Most useless Innovation 09:00 - Is 3D Printing Really The Future? 12:08 - Are Gravel Bikes Useless For Racing? 15:04 - Scott Foil 18:17 - Outro Subscribe to Cycling Weekly here: 🤍 More at: Cycling Weekly: 🤍 Facebook: 🤍 Instagram: 🤍 Twitter: 🤍 Email: cycling🤍futurenet.com #cycling #bikes #bicycles

What if you want a high-quality lightweight, modern carbon road bike but you prefer rim brakes, a mechanical groupset and don’t want balloon tyres for so called ‘all road’ riding? In this video I’m going to show that that - despite the best efforts of the industry - bikes like this do still exist. I’ve found the ultimate modern bike for the retrogrouch. The Racer Rosa is an example of a bike which proves that you can still buy a top end carbon road bike with rim brakes and is compatible with mechanical gears. Hill climbs are a very British tradition, with no such culture existing in other major cycling nations. | Subscribe to Cycling Weekly here: 🤍 Strava records of Ditchling ride: 🤍 If you tried to explain the logic behind driving four hours to ride a one-minute time trial up Monsal Head to an Italian they would surely think you a little special. I decided to throw myself into this years hill-climbing season - I wanted to immerse myself in this cycling sub culture and find out what the appeal is. For many people, the idea of turning yourself inside out with a lung busting effort, up a brutally steep climb in typical autumnal British weather at 9am on a Sunday is far removed from what constitutes 'fun.' I also wanted to explore it takes to succeed in these short but intense events. If I stopped eating cake, got a mega light bike and trained like a pro, could I go from zero to hero? Probably not, but I thought I would give it a go anyway! 🤍 We hope you enjoy this documentary, so if you do please like, share and subscribe, as it helps us make more of this kind of content in the future. Subscribe to Cycling Weekly here: 🤍 How to climb Mount Teide, from 0m to 2200m | Cycling Weekly Elevation: 2200m Distance: 33Km Average gradient: 6% Located on the Spanish island of Tenerife, Mount Teide surely stakes a claim as one of the most famous climbs in cycling that hasn’t featured in a Grand Tour. This is partly due to the pilgrimage made by pro teams in the off-season for altitude training, residing at the top of Teide at Hotel Parador. Its unique setting also allows riders the choice to climb from sea level all the way to 2200m in elevation. The importance of pacing is crucial on Teide, as to reach the summit requires grinding up the mammoth 32.7km climb at an average gradient of six per cent. The sheer length of the climb makes it one of the longest continuous climbs in Europe, and despite its name – Mount Teide is still an active volcano. With ever changing road surfaces, views and vegetation, as well as being the perfect location for winter training camps thanks to its reliably warm climate. Teide is certainly a climb every cyclist should have on his or hers bucket list. Read more at 🤍 More at: Cycling Weekly: 🤍 Facebook: 🤍 Instagram: 🤍 Google+: 🤍 Twitter: 🤍

Road cycling VS gravel cycling, gravel cycling VS road cycling... You could go round and round in circles on this debate. So myself and Stefan Abram decided to settle the debate once and for all by putting the two bikes head to head and seeing which one came out triumphant. The battle ground for this duel was the English/Welsh border. We would start our tussle from Chepstow and then race north up to Chester. I would be taking to the road, albeit on a slightly longer route, whereas Stefan would be taking a more direct albeit slightly hillier route. There could only be one winner in this race but who would it be that could claim the ultimate bragging rights? This video was created in partnership with Garmin and Saddleback. Most of us are getting a little tubeless curious these days. For road riding it just makes so much sense. It reduces the likelihood of all types of puncture from thorns to pinch flats. However, we understand that to the uninitiated Tubeless can be quite an “out there” idea, and you might be thinking it can’t possibly work or that it must be prone to going wrong – after all we all have that riding friend who moans about it non stop! Well, we’re here to bust some tubeless myths, and you can trust us, here at Cycling Weekly we’ve lost count of the number wheel and tyre combinations that we’ve setup.
