Hey loves! I hate having to spend money on stuff I can easily make, so in this video I will show you how to make homemade mod podge. I will also test it out by decorating my plain glass lipstick holder. *Stuff you will need: Jar with a lid Elmers glue Water Measuring cup (optional) -Sorry for the angle I didnt realized the camera was slanted -Mason jar is from Joann's fabric store -Pink Glitter (Heidi swapp/Marquee love)- 🤍 *For your plastic cell phones covers I would not recommend this because you can run the risk of getting some glitter stuck inside your phone. I realized this after filming. The glitter can easily come off by peeling it. Try a glitter cardstock paper instead. I have linked down below my DIY phone case video. To make a jar of homemade Mod Podge you need 1 cup of glue and 1/3 cup of water. These proportions are perfect. Shake really well and use as you would Mod Podge. To make it gloss add 2 tablespoons of water based varnish or to make the sparkly add super fine glitter. Empty the glue into a container. 2. Add Water. You'll need it to be 50% glue and 50% water. For a thicker consistency use half as much water as glue. In the video, I make the thicker consistency version. 3. Stir and Shake shake shake Homemade Mod Podge isn't as strong or resistant to damage as the store-bought brand. This DIY Project is so much fun, and a surprisingly easy way to display your photos! All you need is some Mod Podge (which is a pretty cool craft glue), photos printed on a laser printer, plus some other simple supplies. I love finding new ways to display photos, especially in this super digital world we live in. The whole process is really fun and intriguing, and it’s a great project to do with the kids. I’ve used rough cut wooden rounds, which give quite a charmingly rustic result. But you could also try this method with clean-cut wooden blocks, for a more modern look. My basic DIY pouring medium is: Use "Elmer's Glue All". Thinned with water according to the type of paints you are using to make a good Pouring consistency. It should come off of your stir stick in a steady stream. Then use. 1 part paint to 3 parts Pouring medium. If you still need to, thin with more water to a good pouring consistency. Add silicone according the size of your cups. Stir the silicone a little for BIG cells. Stir a lot for small cells. I use a butane torch not propane. Drying: Leave room under as well as on top while your painting dries. This will help avoid crazing and cracking. If your paint is too thick it may craze. Crazing looks like grooves. “Low quality” White paint tends to crack. Cracks look like dried mud. Clean silicone off the top of the painting with 90% alcohol then wipe down with soap on a cloth. I’ve been using this method of making glue for a very long time and I’ve found that it gives me the best results when compared to other homemade scenic glue. All of my previous scenery dioramas and model railroad videos use this method for glue application. It’s strong and durable and most of all easy to make and cheap compared to other glues. You can also apply the same ratios used in the video to almost all the other types of glue to make scenic glue, prior to using Mod Podge I used PVA glue and Matte Medium. Transfer text onto painted wood with Mod Podge and inkjet (basic) printer.
