The basic process to pair your Godox V1 speedlight with your Godox XPro trigger: 1. Put the V1 speedlight in Rx mode. Using the backwards Z button until the screen turns orange. It will say Rx on the screen. Unless you have an older firmware update, in which case it will say slave. 2. Set up the channels. Use the menu button to scroll through to scan, and start. This will let give you a list of channels that should be free from interference. Once you have this, set the V1 speedlight to one of these channels. Then set the XPro trigger to the same channel. 3. Set ID. ID can be left off, but if you do use it the trigger and the speedlight need to be set to the same ID. Can be found in both the trigger and the speedlight by pressing menu and scrolling to ID. 4. Set up groups. Set which group you would like your speedlight to be in by pressing "GR" and cycling through the letters. Adjust the settings of that group on your Xpro trigger. If you're only using one speedlight, there isn't any advantage/disadvantage to choosing different groups. And thats not really wrong... I got these flashes around the same time I wanted to start a YouTube Channel, so it sort of was just what was on top of mind. This is going to be the last one (Godox specific video) for a while, I promise! haha So this is the piece of equipment that really makes the Godox universe of off camera flash photography camera gear really special. If you use any of the Godox speedlights (like the V860ii) or some of the more powerful flash heads (like the AD200 or the AD600/AD600pro/Wistro 600/etc) and you're using a wired or binary flash trigger... then this is what you need to really move from beginner to intermediate/advanced. The Godox X Pro flash trigger gives you native wireless control over the wireless flashes Godox has to offer. The flashes with the built in receiver is able to be grouped, automatically controlled (via TTL), or manually controlled through this wireless flash trigger. There isn't all that much more to say other than the fact that Godox makes different models for many of the large brands of cameras. In terms of off camera flash - you just need to make sure you get the right trigger. If you are doing on camera flash, you'll also need to get the right model speedlight. The primary difference between them all is the hotshoe connection contacts. If you're doing google searches, you'll find model numbers like: XProN (Nikon), XProS (Sony), XProC (Canon), XProO (Olympus), XProF (Fujifilm), and I'm fairly certain there are a few more... not to mention they are coming out with new models to support other camera brands. If you are a beginner with flash photography, moving to off camera flash photography will open up a whole lot of options for your creativity and functionality. And, especially if other people are involved, you will want to make sure you have the ability to control your flash heads efficiently. The Godox XPro trigger lets you do all that right behind your camera... I promise you'll look like a pro! *
